I hold classes fairly regularly throughout the year, usually over a weekend or a long weekend. They are divided into general throwing and big pot making classes. Throwing workshops are suitable for all levels of experience and the big pot making course for those with at least one years' experience of throwing. My class sizes are unusually small - I have only 3 students. This means that everyone gets a lot of individual attention and detailed throwing instruction. I can cover whatever you want to learn, rather than having a set programme.
I have developed my own method of teaching in which I guide the students hands - in effect throwing through their hands, so they get the experience of feeling the different pressures and hand movements and co-ordinating this with the wheel speed. Having this experience helps them to reproduce that feeling on their own.

'Joanna's "hands on" teaching was just wonderful. It made so much difference to my throwing. I made a huge bowl and amazed myself.'
I will be holding classes throughout the year. As the groups are so small, they are arranged to suit those who express an interest. If you are interested in coming to one please email or telephone on the numbers below to join the waiting list. If a class has been arranged and there are places left, I will of course be posting available places on the website.
Email me or phone on 01656 784021 / 07790434021 if you are interested in coming to a class. Cost is £93 per day including lunch and refreshments. If you would like to bring your own lunch, cost per day is £86.
